OK, that is the sinopsis I took from the book.
I started reading the condensed version of this novel some time ago in Majalah Mingguan Wanita. Wasnt so attracted to it then. Then when I saw that the drama was going to be televised on Astro Ria, I went out to get the book. (Sucker that I was, hehe!). Since Sweetheart was away, I had more time on hand and read the book in just 2 days.
Frankly, storyline was so very simple, rather boring and dreary in some instances. No excitement or suspense, that necessitate me to hold on to the chair for my dear life. On the whole, quite disappointing.
Alaa.. in short boring lah. Anyway, the drama is worse. But no comments for that.
p/s Btw, I get pissed off when people use Petronas Twin Towers as their 'office'. Check out facts dulu lah, sebelum guna location tu. SAS likes to use PTT sebagai lokasi office.. as in the case of Tak Seindah Mimpi also. yang itu lagi banyak facts tak betul.

MAHFUZ
Telah ku cuba bunuh engkau
Bersama kenangan silam semalam
Agar putik rasa dalam hati berderai bersama lara
Biarku bawa berlari rindu yang terkepung
Bersama sendu nan luka.
Rasanya
Ingin kupergi sejauh mana jua pun
Agar dapat kebenam rasa pedih
Rindu kasih semalam
Pun telah kucuba
Membenci seluruh jiwa ragaku
Agar dapat melupakan rasa kasih yang tersemat
Maka jadilah aku di sini
Seorang pembunuh yang lara
Seorang pelari yang kecewa
Seorang pembenci yang tewas
Kerana kasihmu tetap mahfuz....
Sinopsis
Kenangan cinta memang indah untuk diingati. Momen-momen manis bagai berputar di layar ingatan. Ada air mata dan ada tawa ria. Begitulah lipatan kenangan yang disimpan Atia.
Cinta Atia kepada Azali, hanya bertepuk sebelah tangan. Atia kemudian mengundur diri. Orang tak sudi, dia pun tak mahu menonjol diri.
~~~
I empathise with the heroine. Memang tak masuk akal kadang2, kenapa seorang wanita terlalu lemah dalam hal cinta, sanggup buat apa-apa dan terima macam-macam cemuhan, tapi on the other hand, so very successful in career.
And we can only pray that we will marry the one we love, and that the courting days will go on into the honeymoon days. And until death, the marriage will remain a honeymoon period.
Tapi tak kan ada tragedy lah kalau itu terjadi.
Dan memang masih ramai lelaki yang ego sebesar lori. Inginkan yang terbaik sahaja untuk diri, tapi lupa nak cermin diri sendiri, adakah dia yang terelok untuk wanita itu.
Hah! I got con into buying this book, unless of course the author is the same as Norhayati Berahim.
OK for easy reading. Plot simple.
Christmas Train - David Baldacci
The Christmas Train - David Baldacci
Christmas Train is a story on how you should always hold on to your dream because sooner or later, you will get it. Believe there is always a second chance for everybody, regardless of what happen in the past. And of course, true love will always stay true.
It's not really a love story which full of romance instead it's a book that touch your heart. You can feel the happiness, the anger, the conflicts, and of course, the love.
A story about a journalist, Tom Langdon who catch a train to Los Angeles to be with his girlfriend,Leila on Christmas. He actually prefer airlines but after an embarassing incident at La Guardia airport, he was banned from flying within the continental US for 2 years. Anyway, he was also thinking of fulfilling his father's wish: Finish a story on trains which was left unfinished by his great-ancestor, Mark Twain.
Things started going really well until he discovered his ex-girlfriend, Eleanor was also on the train. Past memories hurried back. Old love too began to flame up. Only Eleanor wasn't sure they should be together or not.
At the same time, the train is full of all sorts of people. There's Steve and Julie ; young couple who wished to get married on the train, Max Power; famous film director, Agnes Joe; strange old woman who loves calling Tom "honeypie", and also the train staffs, which made the train is much more than just a train. As the writer put; train during christmas season is a social club of strangers looking for a friend.
When things started to go well between Tom and Eleanor, Tom's girlfriend, Leila stepped on the train. Surprising him, she proposed, saying that she want 8 kids with him. Few miles before they reached Los Angeles, the train is stopped by 2 avalanches, so everyone was trapped.
Will they survive? What happen to Tom? Get this book!
As this is my first time reading David Baldacci's work, I'm impressed. Want more of his writings. This book also touch on train;Amtrak train which gave me more knowledge on train. I'd prefer to travel by bus or flight but this books make me wanting to take train next time I travel. Overall, great book!
Skipping Christmas ~ John Grisham
Skipping Christmas
John Grisham
~ 227 pages
~ RM 32.90
Dell Fiction
Imagine a year without Christmas. No crowded malls, no corny office parties, no fruitcakes, no unwanted presents. That's just what Luther and Nora Krank have in mind when they decide that, just this once, they'll skip the holiday altogether. Theirs will be the onlyhouse on Hemlock Street without a rooftop Frosty; they wont't be hosting their annual Christmas Eve bash; they aren't even going to have a tree. They wont need one, because come December 25 they're setting sail on a Caribbean cruise. But as this weary couple is about to discover, skipping Christmas brings enormous consequences -- and isn't half as easy as they'd imagine.
A classic tale for modern times, Skipping Christmas offers a hilarious look at the chaos and frenzy that have become part of out holiday tradition.
Now a major motion picture, Christmas with the Kranks, starring Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis.
~~~~~
John Grisham decides to take a rest from his usual law stories and wrote this down-to-earth comedy. And if you carefully replace 'Christmas' with 'Hari Raya', I think we can understand or maybe not understand why we put ourselves in this annual torture of preparing for the festive season !!!
The Krank's only child left home to join the Peace Corp in Peru. Luther Krank, being the old miser/tax accountant, was calculating how much was spent the last Christmas, and how he could save some money and at the same time, enjoy themselves.. just them.
So the plan to go on a Caribbean Cruise was born. Nora (the wife) needed alot of coaxing but she finally caved in.
So when others in the neighbourhood, were preparing to 'sambut' Christmas (as usual), the Kranks were hiding away in the basement or the shower.
Then disaster struck. Read to know what happened.
The Movie : I must watch if this gets to Malaysian shore cos' I simply love Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis. He is a natural stooge. Hahaha...
Enjoy the Read... kak Wynn

In Iran in late 90s, Azar Nafisi and seven young women-her former studets-gathered at her house every Thursday to discuss forbidden works of Western literature. Shy and unconfortable at first, they soon began to open up, not only about the novels they were reading but also about their own dreams and dissappointment.
Their personal stories intertwine with those they are reading- Pride and Prejudice, Washington Square, Daisy Miller and Lolita-their Lolita, as they imagined her in Tehran.
Azar Nafisi also tells her own story, back to the early days of revolution when she first started teaching at the University of Tehran, amid a swirl of protests and demonstrations.

Nia Azalea - Seredup Kasihmu
Namun Lea takut andai Emir tahu asal-usulnya.
Namun, keduanya berjumpa semula setelah bekerja.

A child called It - Dave Pelzer
A real story by the author.
Terdapat sequel iaitu The lost boy(kisah Dave dari umur 12-18) dan A Man Called Dave(kisah Dave selepas kolej sehingga sekarang)
Great book dan sekarang tengah nak beli sequelnya.

Ini mesti bace punye....Lagi best daripada trilogy Lord of the Rings. Even if you are not the fan of fantasy fiction (like me). Written by George R R Martin, ada 5 books, 3 dah published, 2 lagi in progress, memamg semua fan tengah tertunggu-tunggu buku 4 keluar, hari-hari visit homepage George R R Martin sampai dia pun tak larat nak layan. Buku-buku nya agak tebal tapi memang best. Kalau dah baca Buku 1, mesti tak sabar nak baca buku seterusnya. Kalau tak percaya, baca la.....
Book 1: A Game of Throne (A Song of Fire and Ice)
Book 2: A Clash of Kings
Book 3: A Storm of Swords: Steel and Snow (Part 1)
A Storm of Swords: Blood and Gold (Part 2)
Book 4: A Feast for Crows
Book 5: A Dance with Dragons
Sipnosis (from Amazon.com):
Book 1: A Game of Throne (A Song of Fire and Ice)
First volume of a brilliant new fantasy trilogy: the most powerful, original and absorbing new epic since Stephen Donaldson's Chronicles of Thomas Covenant. The first volume of George R R Martin's glorious high fantasy tells the tragic story of treachery, greed and war that threatens the unity of the Seven Kingdoms south of the Wall. Martin unfolds with astonishing skill a tale of truly epic dimensions, thronged with memorable characters, a story of treachery and ambition, love and magic. Set in a fabulous world scarred by battle and catastrophe over 8000 years of recorded history, it tells of the deeds of men and women locked in the deadliest of conflicts and the terrible legacy they will leave their children. In the game of thrones, you win or you die. And in the bitter-cold, unliving lands beyond the Wall, a terrible winter gathers and the others -- the undead, the neverborn, wildlings to whom the threat of the sword is nothing -- make ready to descend on the realms of men. A Game of Thrones begins the most imaginative, ambitious and compelling fantasy epic since The Lord of the Rings. Thronged with memorable characters, it unfolds with astonishing skill a tale of truly epic dimensions. There have been many pretenders to the throne of Tolkien: now at last he has a true heir.
Book 2: A Clash of Kings
George R.R. Martin writes sword-and-sorcery which concentrates on the swords. A Clash of Kings is the second volume of A Song of Ice and Fire, the sequence which began with A Game of Thrones and will take another four volumes to complete. The Seven Kingdoms are divided by revolt and blood feud; beyond their Northern borders, the men of the Night Watch fight the coming of a great cold and the walking corpses that travel with it; on the other side of the ocean, the last of the Kingdom's deposed ruling house mourns her horseclan husband and rears the dragonlets she hatched from his funeral pyre. This is character-driven fantasy--we see most events through the eyes of the sons and daughters of the Stark family, the once and future Kings of the North, whose father's judicial murder started the war. Martin avoids the cosy Californian cheeriness of many epic fantasies in favour of a sense of the squalor and grandeur of high medieval life; there is passion here, and misery and charm--and a profound sense of moral ambiguity as we learn to like the Richard III figure in this epic as much as the more virtuous Starks.
George R. R. Martin's superb fantasy epic continues in consummate style as bloodshed and alchemy lay waste the Seven Kingdoms in the second volume of A Song of Ice and Fire. The Iron Throne once united the Sunset Lands, but King Robert is dead, his widow is a traitor to his memory, and his surviving brothers are set on a path of war amongst themselves. At King's Landing, the head of Lord Eddard Stark rots on a spike for all to see. His daughter Sansa is betrothed still to his killer's son Joffrey -- Queen Cersei's son, though not the son of her late husband Robert. Even so, Joffrey is now a boy-king, Cersei is his regent, and war is inevitable. In Dragonstone, Robert's brother Stannis has declared himself king, while his other brother Renly proclaims himself king at Storm's End -- and Eddard Stark's fifteen year old son Robb wears the crown of the north at Winterfell. A comet in the night sky, red and malevolent, the colour of blood and flame, can only be an omen of murder and war. Stannis's child Princess Shireen dreams of dragons waking from stone. And a white raven has brought word from the Citadel itself, foretelling summer's end. It has been the longest summer in living memory, lasting ten years, and the smallfolk say it means an even longer winter to come...The first rule of war is never give the enemy his wish. But winter will be the biggest enemy. From beyond the Wall the undead and Others clamour for freedom, and from beyond the sea the long-dead Dragon King's daughter hatches her revenge. Robb Stark will be exceedingly lucky to reach adulthood.
Book 3: A Storm of Swords
The third volume of his six-volume fantasy epic A Song of Ice and Fire, A Storm of Swords continues Martin's vigorous account of the civil wars which follow the death of King Robert, the usurper who deposed a dynasty gone mad and dangerous, and the judicial murder by his widow and heir of Ned Stark, the man who made him king. The surviving Stark children are scattered--Robb leading revolt in the North, Arya learning hard lessons as she treks through the war zone, Sansa an observer of court intrigue, crippled Bran heading towards a sorcerous destiny, Jon engaged in desperate defence of the icewall against barbarians and worse things. Daenerys, pretender and ruler of dragons, is building an empire elsewhere. And characters we have thought of as villains, notably Jaime Kingslayer, are developing belated consciences ... Martin keeps on upping the ante of violence and betrayal in this compelling saga of a fantasy middle ages soiled with blood and mud; his economic use of magic and his fascination with complex characters make this the sword-and-sorcery series for people with adult taste. As the series proceeds, his writing gets ever leaner and sharper, the evocation of the magical ever more sinister.
Split into two books for the paperback, the third volume in George R.R. Martin's superb and highly acclaimed epic fantasy A Song of Ice and Fire continues the richest, most exotic and mesmerising saga since The Lord of the Rings. The Seven Kingdoms are divided by revolt and blood feud, and winter approaches like an angry beast. Beyond the Northern borders, wildlings leave their villages to gather in the ice and stone wasteland of the Frostfangs. From there, the renegade Brother Mance Rayder will lead them South towards the Wall. Robb Stark wears his new-forged crown in the Kingdom of the North, but his defences are ranged against attack from the South, the land of House Stark's enemies the Lannisters. His sisters are trapped there, dead or likely yet to die, at the whim of the Lannister boy-king Joffrey or his depraved mother Cersei, regent of the Iron Throne. And Daenerys Stormborn will return to the land of her birth to avenge the murder of her father, the last Dragon King on the Iron Throne.
